13th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference Opens in Beijing
On September 13, the 13th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference opened in Beijing. Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and Sun Shuo, Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipality, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Also in attendance were Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia; WIPO Deputy Director Generals Wang Binying and Hasan Kleib; Bemanya Twebaze, Director General of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization; Denis Loukou Bohoussou, Director General of the African Intellectual Property Organization; and Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO). The opening ceremony were presided over by CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Hu Wenhui.
Keynote speeches were delivered by guests from governments, international organizations, academia, and the business sector. Participants included heads of the WIPO's sectors, principal officials from the CNIPA and Beijing municipal government, guests attending the Third Belt and Road High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property, heads of IP administrations from various provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as representatives from embassies in China, foreign institutions, exhibiting companies and organizations.
Before the opening ceremony, Shen Changyu, Sun Shuo, and other Chinese and international guests toured the conference exhibition. The annual conference featured one main forum and 11 sub-forums, where participants engaged in discussions on key IP topics.
