PPH Pilot Program to Adopt New Application Form

Applicants or agents are required to use a new “Application Form of Participating in Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program” when filing PPH applications since January 1, 2015.

The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), by joining hands with partnering offices, revised the above mentioned application form so as to provide better service to applicants and agents. Specific form-filing requirements can be found in the pop-up window of the SIPO website.

This pilot program enables applicants to fast –track foreign patent applications at a lower cost. As of June 30, 2014, Chinese stakeholders had filed 1,117 foreign patent applications, including 424 PPH applications and 693 filings under PCT.
